Parent Consent Agreement

Last updated: September 2026. This explains what you agree to when you create an account and add a child.

1. Who Provides Consent

Only a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old may create a DragonBite Academy™ account and provide consent for a child to participate. By checking the consent boxes at sign-up, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of each child you add and that you have the authority to consent on their behalf.

2. What You Are Consenting To

You consent to your child using DragonBite Academy™ under your supervision, and to DBA collecting the limited information needed to run the program: your child's first name (or nickname), age, and the habit, meal, and activity progress they record. This information is used only to operate the app for your family and is never sold.

3. Research & Program Evaluation (Pilots Only)

If your family joins a sponsored pilot or research cohort using a pilot code, you additionally consent to your child's de-identified progress and survey responses being used for program evaluation. Analyses use a coded participant ID only — your family's name and contact details are never included in any research export. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time from your account settings. A separate, versioned consent document is presented at cohort enrollment.

4. Surveys

Some programs include brief parent surveys at the start, middle, and end. These are optional research/evaluation measures completed by you, the parent — never by your child directly. You may skip a pilot at any time; your family's core account and history remain yours.

5. Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw consent and delete your account (and all associated child profiles and data) at any time from Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing hello@dragonbiteacademy.com. Withdrawing consent stops all future data collection. Data already contributed to a completed research analysis in de-identified form cannot be re-identified or removed after aggregation.

6. COPPA & Your Rights

DBA complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). As the parent/guardian you have the right to review the personal information collected about your child, to refuse further collection or use, and to request deletion. See our Privacy & Safety policy for how to exercise these rights.
